Questions tagged [synthesis-golf]

Synthesis golf is a community initiative to encourage active participation on chemistry.SE by providing frequent synthetic challenges. Specific targets will be posted and users are encouraged to provide their synthetic routes, bounties are awarded to further encourage users to get involved.

The premise:

Synthesis golf aims to encourage participation on chem.SE by providing interesting synthetic challenges (at an appropriate level that they should appeal to students and practicing chemists alike), with additional bounties to further persuade people to take part.

Applicability of the tag:

The tag should be applied only to questions which are specifically part of the synthesis golf initiative. Synthesis golf questions will be posted at regular intervals (monthly, at present), and should not be started by users without first consulting (either by commenting on the meta post, or by pinging in chat).

Other questions which are simply about synthetic routes/synthesis planning should be tagged, as previously, with and .

Further information:

A full FAQ can be found on the chemistry meta pages here, and will regularly be updated to include a list of all past challenges.
