The word "reboot" stands for the process of restarting a running device, i.e. it involves shutting it down and immediately starting it up again. The root of the word can be taken as advice: Get the device into its boots (i.e. running) again.

As the excerpt describes, this tag is intended for reboot issues. Examples include:

  • boot loops (the device rebooting itself over and over without stop)
  • getting stuck at a reboot (i.e. being forced to switch off/on the device to complete the boot process)
  • sudden and unexpected reboots (happening without being requested by the user; "random restarts")
