Running 12 V on a 24 V heater cartridge?

Would I damage anything running 12 V on a 24 V cartridge heater? I know it wont reach a max temperature 300 °C? I am using the E3D hotend set up.

Good filament/s for heat resistance in cars

I have designed a cupholder for my center console in my truck with PETG. I was hoping it wouldn't deform and it didn't for a while but we got some high temperatures the past few days (around 32-38 °C or 90-100 °F). Kind of figured it wouldn't hold…

What are ways to avoid heat creep?

Printer configuration and many settings affect heat creep. Heat creep stopping extrusion doesn't necessarily involve melting the filament too high above the nozzle. All it takes is making the filament too soft. The filament may bend and wad up…

What is an appropriate filament to 3D print a replacement microwave turntable ring?

I recently had the unfortunate experience of someone in my household accidentally breaking the microwave turntable ring. Considering the replacement cost of a new tray ring is upwards of $70, I'm exploring the option of 3D printing a replacement.…

What filament to use for outdoor high humidity, temperature, and payload?

I wanted to build a 4-wheel ground robot vehicle with a payload of 25 kg for outdoor use, but I wanted to make the frame/chassis using a 3D printer. The outside temperature ranges between 30 °C-35 °C and the humidity is 70-90%. I think the vehicle…

PID fails too hot temperature with new hotend on Tevo Tornado

I am new to 3D printing. I had a big issue with the full hotend: thermocouple broke, the fan broke, plastic everywhere... (I don't really know why as hundreds of prints were good before) Anyway, I decided to replace the full hotend (2 fans +…

Must restart Adventurer 3 before it will heat up

I had a pretty big problem with clogs, at both the nozzle and the other end too. I fixed those and installed a new nozzle. Now I can print. But when I go to change the filament, it won't heat up and shows 35/0 degrees. I have to shut down the…

Targetting low thermal conducitivity with PLA

I'm working on a (currently only conceptual) design for a Peltier-cooled sample holder, and the cold side will need some insulation. It's likely to be a rather complex shape, so 3D printing it looks like a good plan. I can get parts made on a…

ENDER 3 PRO nozzle keeps falling off

I always use my 3D printer but this is different; I noticed a few weeks ago that the nozzle where I often tighten it up keeps coming off. Is there something wrong with it? It's like the inside of the heater block needs to change or the 4 mm nozzles…
