Hey. My name is Steven. Mathematics has three major branches, i.e. algebra, geometry and analysis. As a conscientious student, I find it important to be proficient at all three branches. The maths lessons that really bring back happy memories are

  • algebra: ring isomorphisms and ideals

  • geometry: analytic study of conics and quadrics (polar lines, asymptotes, conjugated diameters, etc.)

  • analysis: (pointwise and) uniform convergence of series of functions

The most challenging task for me is solving a partial differential equation. If I'm courageous, I spend time doing numerical computations or learning functional analysis for that purpose. I'm also trying to brush up my math vocabulary with topology.

Besides mathematics, I like history and philosophy, especially the Old Greeks and early modern times. Classical music and paintings raise my cultural level and happiness.
