What is the value of $1^i$?
I read that $$ (-1)^{2i}=\exp(2i\log -1)=\exp(-2\pi-4\pi k) $$ for $k\in\mathbb{Z}$. How does the second equality follow?
I calculate $\cos(2i\log(-1))=1$ and $\sin(2i\log(-1))=0$, but I don't see how a $-2\pi-4\pi k$ appears like this.
Thanks for clarifying.
