Born as an indian puma in 1976 (as a real fire dragon) I am not very superstitious but I like the strong pictures which come to my mind when thinking about such zodiac signs.
I am very active in learning by doing and always curious to learn something new about... * music making (guitars, amplification, sound, grooves...) * human history (the last 2-3k years) * and of course informatics/computer science
I work as a SW developer of embedded systems designed to output high voltage, high currents/power, to measure all kinds of related signals, partially automatically post processed, analysed and assessed and most of it in hard realtime with cycle frequencies in range between 10 to 250kHz. The SW components are mainly running on Linux on platforms like PowerPC/Freescale P2020 (RT syncronized), ARM/i.MX6 (touch display env.) but as well on MS Windows (PC user interf., system testing tools...)
The programming languages of my choice are...
- C/C++, since 1996
- ahm, then of course C/C++
- wait, ahm: Did I mention C/C++ ?
- more and more C#/.NET but so far always in combination with C++/CLI
- In the 1990's I did a lot of x86/Assembler together with (Turbo) Pascal and ANSI C.
- In the late 2000's I got in touch with Embedded Systems and 68k/Assembler (Freescale ColdFire)
- ah, yes, not to forget C and C++ :-)
The platforms targetted by my daily business are... * Linux (LFS tailored embedded distribution for PPC and ARM as well as the big ones like Ubuntu, Debian, SuSE etc. for x86) * Windows plays as well a huge role. Bigger than I want to admit ;)
In case that I run out of (motivation for my) work and besides of entertaining my wonderful wife I try to maintain my other passions like...
- Playing guitars (A. & E.)
- Trying hard to avoid that I am getting too used to the already great sound of my instrument-amplification rig (I cannot leave it as it is, I may need a therapy)
- ...same for my computers and every other technical stuff around me :-/
- Enjoying the nature (hiking, sports), short and long travels etc.
I hate...
- reading manuals! It happens very seldomly that a manual actually helps me. In most cases such are either not telling the truth (because such may have become outdated the moment such are published) or that badly structured that I cannot track the outline.
- unobjective statements ...which sooner or later result in fake-news and the other nonsense which do nothing to help making the world turning around
I love (of course my wife) but as well...
- good guitar sound Kerrräääännnng
- reading very well written texts/articles which explain the world around me (including S.O. articels of course)
- a free and peaceful world
- making those leading dots in front of each of my enumerating sentences Hm
I am impressed of...
- true ingenuity when I recognize it as such
- true authenticity when I face it
- you, that you're still reading this
