My in-apartment gym lacks barbells. Should I join a new gym or buy my own barbell?

Barbell exercises for serratus anterior muscle
By benchpressing a lot, I improved my chest, but it seems so the side view is still a sticking point due to a weakly developed serratus anterior muscle.

Barbell exercises to undo damage of sitting?
Apparently sitting for long periods leads to muscle imbalances. Due to my current situation, it is something I have to do. Hence I'd like to ask what would be some good barbell exercises to work against the negative effects of sitting?
