Retired (2017) Electronic Design Engineer, primarily FPGA design with VHDL since 1992.

Started work at GEC McMichael in '77, which became Marconi Underwater Systems, until Jan '91 when everyone was made redundant.

Started at British Aerospace (Dynamics), Stevenage, in Jan '91, which eventually became MBDA.

I "Dabbled" in Tcl/Tk quite a lot when working, creating CRC calculation scripts and generate data files for Modelsim simulation of my designs etc. But I have come back to it after 5+ years to design a cycling based app for Windows (which I've now done successfully early 2023), (& Mac if I can get it working). By no means a Tcl expert, just enough to get by, usually with help from sites like this.

Now attempting to learn Python, the basics aren't too hard, but having difficulty getting to grips with the reasonably complex GUI I wish to build. UPDATE: Have now got tmy cycling program to work in Python after a fair bit of help from here with the GUI (the rest was pretty simple).
