Players are aggressive, tactical, positional, passive, suicidal, ... The way they play defines their style. Openings can also be aggressive, tactical, positional, passive, suicidal, ... They are characterized by the lines which arise from them, and whether those offer aggressive, tactical, positional (and so on) chances.
