macOS 10.13 High Sierra is Apple's operating system for Macintosh hardware. macOS Sierra was announced June 5, 2017 at WWDC, Apple's annual conference for developers where new operating systems have been announced for the last several years.

macOS 10.13, Apple's fourteenth major release of the macOS operating system. Rather than offering radical new features, macOS High Sierra (10.13) is a refinement of macOS Sierra (10.12). Among the apps with notable changes are Photos and Safari.

Main changes from macOs High Sierra:

  • APFS, a new default file system
  • New Metal 2 technology

System Requirements for macOS High Sierra:

  • sixth-generation Intel processor or later
  • 2GB RAM
  • OS X 10.8 or later
  • 14.3 GB of free hard drive space

  • MacBook: late 2009 and later
  • MacBook Pro: mid 2010 and later
  • MacBook Air: late 2010 and later
  • Mac Mini: mid 2010 and later
  • Mac Pro: mid 2010 and later
