Completely wipe your device remotely in case it was lost/stolen.
Keeping sensitive data on a mobile device bears its dangers. Sure one could encrypt those data, but not always this is practicable or easy to apply. Nor is it absolutely safe from being "hacked". So in case your device was lost/stolen, you might want to safely remove all those data.
Luckily, several anti-theft apps offer the feature of a "remote wipe", i.e. you send a command to the device (usually via SMS or a hidden service triggered by the app's provider's website), and that app performs a complete wipe -- comparable to a factory reset, but sometimes even more thorough (not simply deleting the data, but safely overwriting them to prevent any recovery).

- factory-reset: full reset of an Android device to the original settings of the installed ROM (usually the "blank settings" it came shipped with from the factory, hence the name). This deletes all user data and user installed apps. Some remote-wipe tools trigger this, but when referring to "factory reset" one usually implies physical access to the device in question.
